Office of Security

Duties and Responsibilities

The university's Office of Security is established to safeguard the Islamic Republic of Iran's elevated values, to maintain order and integrity, and to prevent violation and breach of administrative affairs, etc. at the university.

The regulatory functions of the Office of Security can be summarized as below:
1- To detect and report potential violation of rules and regulations (mainly at university campus);
 2- To detect and confront the conspiracies of the enemies of the Islamic Revolution, both foreign and domestic, who intend to jeopardize the social security at the university campus;
3- To detect and deal with political, security and administrative crimes and violations of the staff and to inform the offences to the relevant authorities;
4- To supervise the procedures of receiving, taking actions and centralized distribution and maintenance of classified documents;
5- To organize and supervise the physical safeguard of the university and to prepare the related plans and schemes;
 6- To train and brief the officials and their subordinate personnel with regards to the security, document protection, individuals, facilities as well as to monitor the proper implementation of projects;
 7- To issue accsess licence for vehicles to enter the university campus;
8- To cooperate with the preparation of security and safeguard schemes as well as to continuously supervise the proper implementation of them;
9- To persuit the tasks referred to by the relevant officials;
10- To persuit and implement directives and instructions;
11- To timely inform the status of the system to the competent authorities;
12- Justicing client's rights; providing services to the people and fulfilling their satisfaction has been one of the reasons for the establishment of bodies, departments and organizations;
13- To provide security counselling to the highest executive authority of the system;

According to the article passed by the Expediency Discernment Council on 21/02/1990, the Office of Security is an executive and supervisory body with special organizational goals and structure which is an instance of the scope of the mentioned principles and rules. In terms of characteristics, duties and organizational position, the Office of Security, as one of the organizational subdivisions, is directly or indirectly responsible for weighty commissions concerning refining of the workplace, controlling employees both qualitatively and quantitatively, investigating and confirming the financial-administrative violations, safeguarding facilities, places and documents. Therefore, the security methods and approaches will be briefly based on the following:
1- To take care and protect the achievements of the Revolution, to promote Revolutionary insights, and to endeavor to preserve the interests of the holy Islamic system as the most basic duty of the security office.
2- To prevent against debauched enthusiasm, prejudices, narrow-minded and petrified methods and any monopoly in performing the organizational duties of the office;
3- To struggle in introducing the Office of Security as a reference to ensure safety and security for all officials, managers, staffs and clients and in line with the consideration of their view points, their legitimate requests, and the violations and to try to pursuit and take the deemed actions in accordance with the rules to fulfill logical and legal requests;
4- To identify the weaknesses and strengths of the system in order to prepare and propose to the Chancellor the appropriate solutions and policies to rectify the existing shortcomings and problems;
5- To fully and accurately observe the executive duties and instructions as well as to effectively utilize the acquired experiences;
6- To bear close and sincere cooperation with officials and others in achieving the organizational goals and to endeavor to induce and determine the position of security as trustworthy and tireless advisors to managers as well as to try jointly to realize this motto that "the managers and officials of the security are for and NOT against each other."
7- To make known and promote the office of security as well as to make sure that the taken measures are based well on valid, dependable and well-grounded documents as well as to strictly avoid to refer and take actions based on unsubstantiated and unjustified reports;
8- To pay continuous and full attention in order to turn the work and office place into a healthy environment as well as to prevent tensions, threats and intimidation in the atmosphere, and accordingly, to prevent the reduction of the staff's efficiency and work trust and to promote mutual trust and good faith in each other.
9- To take care and executing the Promotion of Virtue and the Prevention of Vice in the related areas and in all matters. 
10- To have contributions to the development of the university in scientific, social, cultural and religious fields.
The role of security in preventing violations
1- The warning or preventive role;
2- The reformist or therapeutic role;
3- The system separating role;
Ethical and Organizational Charter of the Office of Security:
1) To practice the Islamic codes and  laws;
2) To observe the laws and regulations as well as to promote the culture of responsibility, legalism and the generalization of them in the organization;
3) To endeavor to provide job security of the managers and employees;
4) To observe the principle of respecting and honoring the client;
5) To observe the privacy of individuals and strive to protect the staff's, students' and the faculties' reputation and secrets.
6) To endeavor to establish meritocracy based on the identification and introduction of committed and specialized staff;
7) To establish interaction and cooperation with managers in order to attain the organizational goals;
8) To strive in the identification and prevention of organizational harm;
9) To identify violators and lawbreakers and encounter them appropriately and legally;
10) To benefit from a macro approach and a planning according to modern technologies;
11) To consider the three principles of Precision, Accuracy and Promptness in reviewing the received reports and the timely notification of them.
12) To make efforts to realize the fundamental slogan of Effective, Decision-making and Accountable Security.
